I'm debating changing out the seal on the transmission drive shaft flange. After pulling the flange can I unbolt the seal housing ( 4 bolts) and remove it for easier work or will I be affecting any preload on the bearing ( exploded view doesn't show any shims there just one gasket). Does anyone know what to torque # is for the nut that holds the flange. I did check the tech section but can't seem to find this info. Sheesh... this hobby is starting to feel like work!!!
Thanks.....again
P.S. other then Memphis anyone know where to get the transmission top gasket?

If slot in nut does not aline with hole in shaft, tighten nut until it does."
No preload or shims to worry about, those are ball bearings.
