Has anyone used this trans fluid in their MT654CR trans? If so have you had any problems? Would you recommend it?

I use Traveler brand fluids in my trucks and tractors, their products meet or exceed specs and save a little $$ in the process.

Thanks for the info. I think I am going to try both the motor oil and the trans fluid . I am still trying to do some research on the best fluid for the trans

Tow4 how does it shift with that fluid? Have you seen a difference in temp. I seen that fluid there and was curious if that would work,I guess anything would be better than just 10wt oil

roalcoal, it doesn't shift down as hard into first but it's still a firm shift. I haven't noticed any differences in the temps. Mine had 10wt oil when I got it.

I went to the tractor store with the intention of buying the Travellers fluid, but saw they had this Super S Super Trac 303 Tractor Hydraulic Fluid on sale for $29.99 for 5 gallons. Truck shifts just fine, and temps appear to be a touch cooler than it was with the oil that was in it before(also changed the pan and spin on filter).
It meets the specs for Allison.

You can't miss it in the store...saw in the ad it was on sale for $25.99 last week:

I think John Deere tractor oil is green. That would go with well with green machines:)

I am not sure how it is today but I assume its somewhat similar to when I was in Cal Poly back SLO in the late 80s. At that time we had some expert from the oil industry come in a put on a presentation. I don't remember everything he said that day but one thing stuck in my mind: At that time he said there was only 3 manufacturers who actually refined transmission fluid, and beyond those 3 everyone marketing/reselling trans fluid was just rebranding one or more of these.
