I have a 1984 M923A0 that I just replaced the #5 piston and liner and after I got it back together and started I'm getting a loud tapping sound that I believe is the cylinders not getting fuel. I'm trying to find the correct trouble shooting guide for this. If anyone knows off hand it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Engine teardowns are usually a 4th eschelon or General Support function in the Army maintenance scheme. This is 4th out of five eschelons in TAMS
so you will have to find someone with a -40 manual. These are not too common and the lower eschelon books will state "notify direct support."
