Unknown towbar

I sold Gimpy a tow bar about 7-8 months ago and finally delivered it at the GA meet. Bummer we were not able to stay longer. It has solid legs and is about the same size as the med bar but is not adjustable and is a whole lot heaver. No one seams to know what it was for. I have since acquired 2 more and another heavy bar. I could have gotten one even larger but I could not pick it by myself so I passed on it. Anybody have an idea what the medium heavy bars are for. The feet that go with the bar have both ¾ and 1” pins.

I have seen those medium heavy bars before as well. I think I have some adapters that are 1.5". Do you have any pics of the 1" and 3/4" adapter combos? Any extra adapters available for sale?

The adapters are the over/under ones that some people have milled down to work with a medium TB. Let me see if I can find the thread.

It would be nice to have a set of those. Then 1 towbar could handle everything from a HMMWV to a HET.

What are the adapters on the left in the pic? Are they for use with the standard 5 ton chain with pear ends?

The adapters use the 1" pins. I also have some that use the 1.5 pins.

These adapters with 1.5" pins should also work with the medium heavy tow bar.
