Vacuum Adjustment

as you all know the M1009 can shift quite hard, The modulator is controlled via Vacuum off the Injector ump, I have allways adjusted this by rotating the thingy on the IJ pump till it shifts through the gears at lower speeds and not so jerky.
After doing this the other day I noticed I was puking Oil from the rear main seal and now Tranny fluid from the Pan area, Can making that adjustment caused some unknown increase in Block Pressure? or Excess vacumm pressure thus the pressre has to go somewhere?
