Vic-3 shorting plug; P/N A3206465; NSN 5935-01-443-9068. Can anybody tell me what this shorting plug is used for?

I absolutely love our mentality on this one... The manufacturer of the VIC-3 system has all kinds of specialty boxes to be able to do exactly what this system does (provide a remote box), but our mindset is to instead use just another standards FFCS station with a custom cable and a custom shorting plug for when it's not connected. I think the manufacturer's solution is better; however, this is definitely nice for the logistics of having less intercom boxes to have in supply. (1 box vs the manufacturer's 3 box solution)
