Voltage Divider

I have been using one that looks identical on 24v graters and dump trucks for two way radios for about 3 years now. I have only had one problem with mine, there is a POT inside that gets dirty and causes 0 output voltage. It is very easy to correct. Just use a screwdriver to move the POT back and forth a couple of times and then adjust for correct voltage. I use a different brand, but it looks the same. It is probable the same company in china making both.

The item shown is a voltage reducer, a voltage divider would be two loads wired in series. If you had two equal 12 volt loads wired in series connected accross 24 volts they would divide the voltage equally. In example, two 12 volt lights wired in series and then connected to 24 volts will operate as intended. The downfall is if one light burns out the second goes out. (x-mas lights) OK now enough of that, the reducer shown looks like it would be a good unit if it is used for lite loads.
