Voltage regulator and "suppressors"

Im under the assumption the 85 series 1008 / 9 are internally regulated? Or did I miss the external voltage regulator somehow? Just making sure before I put juice to it...

And the supressor from positive junction block to negative junction block is not required nor recommended?

Suppressors are not needed at all. Don't hurt anything (unless they have gone bad), but aren't needed at all.
