In mai 2011 we got an invitation from the "Dutch Peace Army" to joint a meeting. The attraction was to go swimming with a DUKW on the Ijssel... One of our members (RK III) owns a original VW 166 Schwimmwagen and we took it to the Netherlands. We had a great weekend between lots of military oldtimer and we went swimming with DUKW, Weasel and our VW 166...

Kind of bumping an old post. I am an old air cooled VW nut, but I am mostly into the drag racing aspect of it. I do enjoy seeing the restored classics. I have only seen one schwimwagen in person while I was living in SoCal.

Great pics, I bet that thing would fetch some large stacks of money at certain auctions.

That´s right... the last original one I heard from was sold for € 150.000,00 !
