Water Pump Install...Sealer on bolts...?

I was installing the water pump today and followed the TM to the letter. It occurred to me...after I was done and had torqued everything of course that the TM only specifies pipe sealant on 1 stud that threads into the head below the water jacket on the drivers side as well as the 4 bolts and 2 studs that bolt the water pump plate to the timing cover.

Why doesn't the TM advise putting the pipe sealant on the other bolts and studs that go into the head above and below both water jacket openings?

I seem to remember that bolts on the passenger side thread into the water jacket as well.

I generally use anti-seize for most assemblies which I did for those bolts adjusting the torque spec. accordingly. I like to use high grade anti-seize since it gives a much more uniform compression of the assembled part and consistent torque.

Now I'm wondering if I should have used the pipe sealant on all the bolts on the water pump above and below each coolant port?

I guess that will be up to you. I Did this in the Fall went just fine following the TM. I've got 3000 miles on new pump. Its fine no leaks, only used pipe sealant on the ones listed in TM. One thing I did notice , bolts (two right bottom on pump) did need brought back to torque. I was doing a damper job a while back (few weeks) noticed them when loosening belts on power steering pump

I just did mine, I put pipe tape and thread lock on all the bolts, just want to be sure I don't have to take it apart again because water is going into oil or leaking on the ground.
