What are the correct batteries for my new Deuce?

I am picking up my new truck on Friday and would like to purchase new batteries before I get there. I have a 6 hour drive and want to insure it goes well.

Need (2) 6TL for the deuce or (2) equivalent car batteries. I like to use 6TL's because they fit the battery box and hold downs.

Is that an exact replacement or a close fit? Doesn't matter much if they work. Just curious.

Just a note... When I gave my local Interstate dealer the 6TL part number he said there ain't no such animal. Apparently they changed it to U6TL. He had to call his distributor to figure that one out.

Good luck with that 6 hr drive. How long is that in deuce hours?

6TL, U6TL, 6TLMF, they are all correct.

There is a multitude of post's on this subject. Mfg's besides Interstate include Excide and East Penn/Deka. 6TL and 6TMF are the military # and the U6TL is Interstates #.
