Wanted to quickly change my belts and had the passenger side alt terminal touch something and got a crack and smoke from the drivers side terminal board just above the glow plug relay. Brown fusible wire.

Can I drive to a local shop to pick up a new wire or should I wait for the wife to come home and take her car?14140121280081636614404.jpg

Its the Brown wire on the left

Note to self, disconnect the batteries next time!

Run it, but be ready for anything.

Have you measured the suspected fusible link? Is it bad or did it just smoke?

I would change it if either.

There was nothing left in the middle. I replaced the wire and the gen meter jumped back up to full. I am gonna look through the manuals and see what fuse was in there. It's jerry rigged for now, and next time I will disconnect the battery. Oops.
