While mine is nothing close to a "Terrible Herbst" build, I have a lot of fun in it.

It is a N/A Honda 3.5 with a Mendeola 2d. Our dunes up here in Oregon are not as open as say Glamis or St Anthony's, we have lots of trails with trees so I built a 2 seater that is only 88" wide and a 108" wheelbase...it's a fun little car.
My first build from scratch was a 4 seater with a 450hp LS1.....you can probably see a little Tatum influence in that build

Here is a little project that I have been working on.
It is a Gannon Earthcavator. It is an early one made for a small tractor. It is being converted from a FD-032 to an FD-042 on steroids.
This is what I started with, after the original mounts had been removed.
The original bent moldboard was removed.
The carcuss was then sectioned for widening.
The scarifier bar was widened and an additional shank pocket was added
The new moldboard, twice the thickness of the original and four additional braces were added.

Great fab work to the OP, but now you've gone and kicked over the hornet's nest. M920 is gonna come in here, share his pics, and kick your a$$. Well, you'll be impressed, anyways....

Good Pete...at least it doesn't look like you spit weld on it. That should hold the branch together.
I can never quite get my welds to have such a nice green color however.
I went out to fab today and the LP gauge was leaking, so found another. Then tried to start the Hobart but a small prime didn't do it. Yep, out of gas. Went to town with a bit of scrap in between rains and brought fuel back.... ran into a hail storm. This was the largest hail I have ever seen (some golf balls) and thought any minute my windshield would shatter. I pulled off the road next to the largest tree I could find and got a very small amount of shelter...but no broken windshield or too bad of denting. I waited it out and drove home only to get hit again with hail real hard.
I gave up on welding today.

The last drill rig I built started with this which was
factory built to drill horizontal holes for fiber optic installation.

Here is some fab we have done for us. My company is in the pneumatic convey industry for industrial food production like breakfast cereal, snack chips and protein foods. Almost everything we do is in stainless steel-laser cut flat patterns and TIG final weld. I have tried to TIG weld myself-it was a no go. I have great respect for fabricators-welders and the skills they have. Workmanship like that Soni guy on SS is tough to get.

Pete, that is some cool looking stuff. I've never tried TIG, but I know after years of welding thick metal with lots of amperage, I'd have a hard time with anything thinner than 1/4" without some training.
