Which top is the best option for a HMMWV? I am leaning towards a 4 man soft top . Can a slantback be modified into a 4 man hardtop? I want to keep it 4 door.

Our sheriff's office got one through LESO. I am hoping to assist by letting them store it at my office and it is only fair that since the sniper team uses the black deuce for training that I should get to run this every now and then, right? Will the soft top work with the hard doors? It currently does not have any top or doors. So I now have to hunt them down. I know, nopics

Soft tops work with hard doors. 4 man soft top kits include soft doors, top and c-pillar and rear curtain. Colors are green, tan, and 3 color camo. You can also get the rear cargo area cover for a wagon look.

Slant back are cool looking but leak.

I just picked up an M998 (four hard doors, soft top and wagon extension). I was looking for a hard top and slantback before it had even been shipped out to me. After doing some research, I am now convinced to leave it as is. The squeaking and leaking scared me off for now.

Thanks for the info and opinions. I may have found a top kit at Fort Polk. But I am looking for the hard doors. Found them in Colorado Springs. Distance is a bear in gathering this stuff. I hope to have it home next week!

I have occasionally found a forum member that was heading my way that could help with such things. Try posting a transportation need and see if you can link up with someone.

Best of luck,

I posted the transport need on the seventh. I have until next Friday to get it picked up. Might be a long roadtrip in the near future for me.
