Windshield Seal Replacement Procedure, Any Tips or Tricks?

Have an M925A2. Purchased and need to replace the windshield gaskets/seals. These are the ones which are 3 sided (like a square "U"), and seal the moveable windshield glass frame when the windshield glass panel is in the closed position.

Basic question is if you can sneak it into the groove somehow, or does one need to disassemble the frame, and therefore re-caulk the glass to the frame afterward.

Or, I have it all wrong, please inform.

Clean the groove real good of rust. Use lots of soapy water to slide gasket and glass into the frame. Pain in the butt, but it can be done.

A big flathead screwdriver with unsharp edges works well, just push the spline into the groove.

Or use a duale putty knife.
