Started out for a drive yesterday evening and turned on my wipers when passing through a shower. Was surprised by a "thunk" noise and failure of the passenger side wiper. Trouble shooting this morning revealed the right hand actuator arm had disconnected. But why? After further investigation, I surmised the cause was probably due to an overly long windshield bumper hex screw. (I also had some help by searching through previous SS posts regarding this problem.) I replaced the previously installed 2" screws with 1.25" screws which now barely clear the back side of each rivnut and should not interfere with the actuator arms.
