There are three parts that you are looking at.

The turn signal switch

BWD S3233 - Directional Signal Switch | O'Reilly Auto Parts

the wiper lever
Dorman Help! 49273 - TURN SIGNAL LEVER | O'Reilly Auto Parts

and the wiper switch

http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/BWD0/S3465/02108.oap?year=1984&make=Chevrolet&model=K30%2BPickup%2B4WD&vi=1053021&ck=Search_wiper+switch_1053021_234&keyword=wiper+switch

The "lever" screws into the turn signal switch. TM 9-2320-289-20, Chapter 4-14 tells how to remove the lever.

The TM 9-2320-289-34 covers replacing the "directional signal" switch. Chapter 4-14

BUT how to replace the wiper switch is not covered....imagine that.....

The GM part number from the TM 9-2320-289-34P parts manual is:

7840274

Googling that number comes up with this link

7840274 - GM SWITCH

Looking it up on www.napaonline.com

NAPA AUTO PARTS

Part number ECH WS6040

Can't help you with the Paypal issue.

Is there a local part house that can cross-reference the part numbers?

GM 7840274
ECH WS6040
BWD S3465

RockAuto.com accepts PayPal

I would also be checking for a short circuit or a jammed up wiper motor which would cause anything to smoke.

got a Problem too,
when i Switch Off the wiper it freezes in that Position (mostly in the middle of the windshield)
would a New wiper Switch fix that Problem or is it a relay defect?

There is a "park switch" on the wiper motor assembly. Disconnect the two plugs on the pump portion of the assembly, pull off the cover and clean all the contacts. I found a broken wire inside mine, and after fixing that and cleaning the motors' ground strap, it works much better. Oh, and you may want to consider bypassing the noise filter capacitors.

hi cpf240!
i did as you said and it works just fine.
i sprayed all the contacts, motor, joints with wd-40 and the interval works again plus the wiper is twice that fast as before.

thank you again, for that helpfull advice.
regards
nico
