It could be a bad switch, you can always run 12v to the lead in the motor to see if it works, that will tell you better where the problem is. As for what wire, look at the TM and it should tell you how to diagnosis it.

If you have a bad switch, that is a project to change and you need special tools. There are plenty of post here on changing the key cylinder which you remove will be in the same area to change the switch. Also videos on Youtube how to do this.
