Wire retainers or Steel Soldiers; Class 101: the total nubie

What are these retainers called? I need to replace some of these wire retainers. Where can I get these? Will I need a special tool for crimping? Or do you replace the whole unit?

The crimped piece is a ferro. Those and the cable are available at the hardware store. No special tools required.

You can find the cable and furrels at home depot. I use wire cutters to crimp the small ones because they are aluminum, just do not use to much force or you can cut them

Use stainless steel cable to minimize the rust.

The clips them selves should be available from macmaster Carr. Actually they have ready made retainer cables

Now it's coming together

Those new wire retainers really make a difference. Everything is lockin' in now! And I made this wooden knife with my boy! Lockback for safety.
