I just put my M38 in the Wreaths Across America's museum for the winter Wreaths Across America | Our Mission: Remember, Honor & Teach I most always take a MV and escort them out of town in there convoy. They are a great group of people.

How fast does the convoy run on the Maine Turnpike? I'm wondering I can help escort them from Scarborough to the state line.

They go Route 1 all the way between 45 50 mph,I will see if I can get more info when it will be going down that way

Short stop at East Holden Elementary School Route 1A, East Holden, ME
11:30 am- Hermon Veterans Park; Hermon Elementary School, Hermon, ME (approximately 1.5 hour ceremony)
3:00 pm- Gardiner Rest Stop, Gardiner, ME
4:00 pm- Freeport, ME Route 1
4:30 pm: Chevrus High School (approximately 1.5 hour ceremony)
6:45 pm- Cabela’s Store, Scarborough, ME

Monday Dec.5th 2011

7:00 am- Leave Cabela’s, Scarborough, ME
7:30 am- Kennebunk Town Hall, wreath presentation
7:45 am- Wells Middle School, Wells, ME
9:15 am- Kittery Trading Post, Kittery, ME (approximately 30 minute stop)
11:00 am- Topsfield Fair Grounds, Topsfield, MA (approximately 1.5 hour stop)
3:30 pm- Mass Elks Club, Auburn, MA (Wreath Ceremony)

Here's some video and pics from Scarborough last night and this morning. I thought it was a pretty good turnout, present were the Cumberland County Police Honor Guard, Sea Cadets, Bagpipe players, local police, state police, several uniformed marines, the Patriot Riders, and a lot of regular folk and veterans in the crowds. On the trucks were 90,000 Christmas wreaths on their way to Arlington.

The convoy as you can see was already pretty large and I sensed they didn't want to bother the police escorts with changing the details at the last minute. I accept that, but they did say to bring down the deuce in the morning to see them off at 0700. So bright and early this AM I picked up my Vietnam Vet friend Tim along the way and showed them what they were missing.
