XM818 bites the dirt

This past summer I bought an XM818 from GL( for a more than fair price). The truck was in great shape and ran well but I haven't even put plates on it yet. I am in Michigan and we have recently had temps down in the teens, so I thought I had better check the coolant on all my equipment. Funny thing though, no coolant in the 5 ton. I filled it up and started it. I fires right up, has good oil pressure, and runs well with one small exception, white smoke. It ran so well I didn't notice the color of the smoke, till I noticed there was no heat. I checked the coolant level again and saw oil in the coolant resevoir. It has been my experience that ethylene glycol in the oil will rapidly wipe out the crank bearings. So I guess I just screwed up REAL BAD! I'm blown away!

With oil in the coolant I would first look at the oil cooler assembly.
That's a thought Zout. My first thought was death of a good motor due to unknown circumstances, however you might be right! THERE IS HOPE! I am going out right now to drain the oil, hoping to mitigate any corrosive effects caused by coolant exposure to the crank.
I really appreciate the encouragement.

The 250 is a tough motor. Ferro had a employee driving his M818, and the water pump failed. Dumb driver drove the truck another 30 or so miles, til he KNEW it was hot. When Ferro got to the truck some 6 hours later, the motor was still hot to the touch. He got it home, changed the water pump, changed the oil, truck runs just as well as before.
