I picked up my M109A3 from Fort Lewis with Scott today, It was a pretty fun recovery. We jumped the truck and it fired right up, spent about 2 hours getting the brakes working with a little help (Thanks Mike!), aired up the tires and we hit the road.

We made it about 3 miles (trying to get diesel) and the truck ran out of fuel, I thought it had about 15gal in it but I was wrong. I forgot to bring my cans of diesel  yea I know... but Scotts WMO saved the day and I was able to make it to a station that had diesel. the next 10 or so miles went by with out a hitch. the weight of the box really helps smooth out the ride.

I also forgot my camara so Scott is going to post picks.

Hey no problem Zack, glad I could help. Scott kept me posted of your progress by sending minute by minute play action text messages. He sent a few pics and a video. Felt like I was on the sidelines watching you guys...haha

congrats, my latest recovery didn't go so well, lost the oil through the turbo and then lost a valve due to no oil (couldn't see gauge to well at night) but made it close enough to the compound to flat tow it back. thinking of parting the beast out now.

Boy does this storie sound familiar. Same as our 109 recovery, but the names have been changed to protect the innocent , and we ran out of fuel in our parking lot.

I orderd all new filters and a new turbo elbow pipe (EXHAUST), it had a fist sized hole in it. I'm hoping the turbo is'nt shot, the hole is close enough to the exhaust turbine for it to get a blast of cold air. the parts should be here on Thursday. I will post pics when the parts come in

Wait. . . THERE'S A CURE?!?!? I hope you dont get banned for speeking of such things haha.

No I'm still around, after I get the M109 up and running I'm going to pull it in the shop and start getting it ready for camping this spring. Progress will be slow for the next month or so, I got tendonitis in my wright wrist pretty bad from work so I'm taking it pretty easy

Worked in the M109 yesterday with Olywadan. Draind out all the bad fuel, cleaned the tank out, replaced all the fuel filters, replaced the turbo elbow. also picked up a small gen set about a month ago.

I could not have done this with out my big helper (my daughter)
