    Another Brake Modification

My comment wasn't directed at your reply, and I agree about the liability. But the system he is using is safe, and used on lots of trucks out there. As for what ifs, what if one of the copper airlines on the truck breaks from vibration (common cause) and you have no air assist for the brakes...

    Another Brake Modification

Boy, I wonder what you guys think about hot rods and other vehicles where nothing is original? The brake system on these trucks was designed before dual master cylinders and dual circuit brakes were used. In 1967 this was mandated across the board for civilian car applications. Even the...

    Wiring Harness Modification

Or roll the extra few feet up and zip tie it in a loop. If you shorten it solder it, butt connectors out in the weather are bad news.

    Deuce for every day driver?

Probably a V10 Excursion, my buddy had one I think he said he averaged 8mpg combined city and highway. Of course he used it like a truck. Or did you mean who would trade a good 5 ton for a 9 year old Excursion?

    Kublos Surplus

Below is what I posted in the other thread, but the best bet is to call and talk to Ken Jr. 570-663-2805. He has lots of nice stuff, and is great guy to deal with. "Hardtop w/o winch w/heat, is around $4000-4500 last I knew (6 months ago). Drop side, Air assist will add a bit more per option...

looking for a deuce from private owner

Hardtop w/o winch w/heat, is around $4000-4500 last I knew (6 months ago). Drop side, Air assist will add a bit more per option. The one thing about buying from Kenny is he will completely go through the truck before it leaves and he will stand behind it if you have a problem.

A few questions about speed and gearing

No not 900r20s, sorry the 395 XZL's the truck in my avatar has on it. 60-62 is just a guess based on traffic. I have not installed my new speedo adapter yet, and can't manage to keep the gps stuck to the window.

A few questions about speed and gearing

I would ask a few people that own trucks with 395"s on them how fast do they drive. I have not checked with gps, but i would bet that my truck at 2100 rpms is turning 60-62 mph. I for one do not feel comfortable driving the truck much faster than that. Don't get me wrong, I regularly drove my...

Body lift brain trust - best practices?

I agree, body lifts on light trucks are about three inches in diameter and barely suitable for a street driven truck. I have seen many on mild off road trucks cause all kinds of carnage (Body mounts ripped from frames, cabs twisted, hardware snapped...). Between the frame twist and everything...

I talked to him on Friday and I believe he said he had 12 left. PM him, I am sure he will get back to you.

    A/C Retrofit Kits

I would like to thank Dilvoy, this kit is a great deal. Good communication, fast reasonable shipping and a good product. It should mount in a M35 with very little work, and is as you would expect very high quality. I will start a thread on the install once I get going on it in the next month or so.

Looks Good. What are those taillights off of?

how to mount 395's on a stock rim?

You do have the rim sitting on a bucket or another rim , right?... something so the tire sags down under its own weight. The guy that mounted mine couldn't have weighed more than 150#, becareful you don't pinch the tube.

flipping the center-sections in riveted wheels

If the holes are still round after cutting the rivits, you could bolt the center in with 4 or 5 bolts to align it for welding. This is what I did when I flipped one, after I got the one done and mounted I decided it was sticking out to far for a 395. I drilled the rivits on a drill press through...

    Underbed tool box w/ 395s

From the front edge of the bed where the pioneer rack is attached to the mudflap is 29". The mudflap is approx 16" tall and at the botton still has a good 1.5" to 2" until the tire. So I would say as long as you are flush or just past the front edge of the bed, you will have plenty of room.
