Not exactly the wash down I had in mind for Terminus M1009. But it was free and no effort on my part. I just finished mowing the grass and this storm rolled in on me. Oh well into all projects a little rain must fall. About 3" in a hour. It did not help get Terminus M1009 clean on the sides and underside. Maybe next time. Have a great day. The Sun is shining now.

I was fishing in Maryland yesterday and found a left Chevy truck door along the river in the woods. It had glass and all. The door was junk and the outside handle was missing. It was blue and from a 1983 1/2 ton 4 X 2 made in Canada. It appears to have washed there. I think that's possible. It was fun of water and mud. I know it wasn't there last month when I was the at the same spot. I brought it home and sawed the bottom of the door off so I could wash the mud out. the sash, window and regulator are in remarkably good condition. As is the wing vent and glass. Of course I packed it out. I was picking up litter. It had a small chrome mirror on the outside. Today was a good day at the YOUPULLIT. I found another set of quad shock mounts for Terminus and I also found a used back window for a K5 Blazer. I ran the cordless batteries dead before I could get the rivets cut from the frame on the shock mounts. Oh well Wednesday's another day. I hope I can make it back.

How did you make the ID to Canada, was it actually labelled that way somehow?

And when do you have time to go fishing. Don't you ever sleep?
I was on a job to recover a downed CUCV and on the way back I stopped by and took a few casts. Water was very fast and high. Figures that's how the door got there.

If has the full VIN and the blue GM Canada sticker. Also has 2 as first in VIN. I could call the DMV or do a VIN search to get history. It was a good score. I am starting a new scrap pile again. Christmas vacation work to clean it up. Seems scrap is highest at the end of the year. Have a great day. Time to get to work. I will report back. I will take a few pictures of the door just as evidence.

DSCF3247.jpgDSCF3248.jpgDSCF3249.jpgDSCF3250.jpgI couldn't move the regulator. I cut the bottom of the door apart to get the regulator and door glass out. Today I am working on a shed roof. Maybe get some time for CUCV work. I will post if I do. Have a great happy July 4th.

If the door got washed down from the high water you may want to go back when you have a dry spell and look for the rest of the truck.

........Another Ahab, sorry for asking, 10-4 , 2 times I've read that, in a short time.
Is this a military term for something?
Maybe you can tell me what it means, but only if I do not have to be kil..d afterwards........LOL.

You ask a fair question, german m1108. It's an expression of a (now) old and antiquated radio system of shorthand. It means "understood", or "okay".

I don't believe it is actively used in radio communications any longer.

So when you read somebody saying "10-4", it's essentially just another way of saying "OK".

Well it was a thought: if you did find it at least you would have a place to sit while fishing.

Not sit. May I suggest a rhyme? S_it. From the looks of the bottom door edge. I could only imagine what the rest of the truck looked like. If it would have had lettering on the door I would have made a barn hanger out of it.
