Allen, it came from Michigan / Ebay . Just put in 28" x 72" RV door. Look to be going for $200+- plus shipping ,new. Think I paid $100+ for shipping. Didn't wand to go with used/take-out. Had key's and screen door also.

I'm keeping it. You just need to get one.

Think it will be like a spare tire. You only will need it when you don't have it !!!!

Other things needed will be a 1 1/4" wrench and maybe a socket.( I had better luck with a wrench) A 8 MM 6 point and a 5/16" 6 point , deep socked for the Zerk's . Pull them before you start pressing.
Two tall jack stands or some straps to hold the shaft's up. (The slip end is heavy )
Can of Blast-it (use the night before) on the joints.
Can't remember the cap bolt size but will need a socket or wrench for them. Think they are 1/2 "?

When I put it back together I will coat the cups and the sockets with a non hardening sealer to keep the rust out. Mine were very rusted. Made some very loud noises when they came free ! ( Like being shot at ) LOL

Also found taking the axle end apart in the front made it easier to do the transfer case end. In the rear it was easier to do the axle end first also. ( my bad I didn't look at the manual first maybe it tells you what is first ? )

So now their at the shop and I will soon get a call with what it will cost ? Also found out you can't go to the next size larger slip joint with out going to the next size larger U Joints. Bummer !

I was also asked about the angle of the joints. Are their wedges to help with that ? Was told it would help with making the shaft last longer ?

Fair enough, Always good to have the necessary tools. Just had to try. What brand/model did you get, and where?
Also, thanks for the info on the procedures!

Think the color is up to you.

The new shafts are in. Just one word .

Next will be some newer tires. The 03,05 and 06's are a little tired. And they are all a different O.D.! But I need to save up for that.

Saturday I will do some welding on the pullout landing. Get the slide's installed and start the pull out.
