completely unrelated but this talk about gas trucks reminds me of a silly yet real small story from somewhere in uk..I found it in a 'free' scanned-online-for-archival older magazine that I can't recall the name of now

lorry was seemingly using a lot of gas so everyone (especially boss) agreed to send it off for a conversion .. it eventually came back some time later with a diesel engine in it instead .. and not too surprisingly it didn't take long before a particular car driver came to the company and yelled at them for wrecking his car!

if you can "read between the lines there" (or however that expression goes in your particular language) you know exactly where the real problem was, it wasn't a thirsty engine indeed!!

.
Yeah. That diesel fuel doesn't burn in a gas powered vehicle.
Ha! He got what he deserved!

In 2009 I was working in Ansbach, at an army unit just coming back from down range. It was summer and a VERY hot one indeed. I spent about 8 hours without lunch or drinking anything, working outside on the hot tarmac. Stupid. I got ready to go home. 2 hour drive. I needed fuel, so I stopped in the local gas station. I almost fell over when I got out. But wobbled back and stuck the fuel nozzle in the tank, and it did not fit. I was seeing spots before my eyes, so just held the nozzle in front of the fuel neck hole, and filled er up with 60 liters diesel. Went into pay and the teller looked at me strange, smiled and gave me back my credit card. HE KNEW what happened. So off I drive. I get to Nürnburg. Its rush hour. I get to the worst traffic circle in Nürnburg, and the car dies. I am blocking one of two lanes and about a million cars are behind me. I get out, walk to a store, and get a bottle of water. After drinking it, my mind cleared up a bit. I had just got this rental 2 days before. We always got diesels. BUT just this one time, we got gassers. So I called the boss and fessed up. He was pissed. But, I was not the only one who did it, and a week later, you guessed it, the Boss did the same thing. So we all got off the hook. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

@Guyfang that..just..umm..well..geeze..I think I'm speechless

all I can say now is: to knowingly steal fuel is one thing but to put in wrong fuel without even knowing it is something else!

(and p.s it gets more weird when you find out someone poured diesel into the def tank or def into the diesel tank..don't ask me..I don't want understand *that* ok?! uhhhh..)
