Tire and wheel shop

Anyone know of a shop in Atlanta area that can break down a Hmmwv wheel? I need a new seal installed. Thx for any info.

Its actually easy to do yourself. Deflate, un-bolt, lift off upper plate, remove old o-ring or valve stem, clean mounting surfaces, lay new o-ring in groove, lay top plate back in place, carefully torque to spec as not to dislodge o-ring. re-inflate.

Its made to be able to be done in the field with hand tools.

I've learned from others on this forum and had great success with just a tiny amount of Slime on the seal, just as a precaution. It fills in any unevenness or scratches if present.

And I second DREDnot's opinion in his post. As long as you don't have to mess with the run flats, pretty simple. Follow torque specs!

Disassembly they can stick, so having some liquid tire lube (or some dish soap thinned down) around the edge of the rim to get into the gap as you pry will keep it from resticking itself as you go around

Just remember not to let a tire shop try to break the bead in a conventional manor, it will not work and damage will likely result.

Remove Valve Core, Remove NUTS, at this point you can support the wheel face on a bucket if you want or something then use a prybar to get the wheel face off the assembly. recover your O-Ring and don't STRETCH it, Unlikely to find a vendor in Town with the O-Ring or O-ring Stock... Runflat is another thing, you can just pull it out with brute force if you don't plan to re-use the tire... or squeeze it down with a ratchet strap till nearly touching in the middle and fight it out with a couple prybars, then put it in the new tire if you wish... or use the PVC Beadlocks offered by Trailworthy Fab... then place the assembly on the wheel and align that o-ring a good bit of slime will do. then bolt it back together.
