    M1031 woodward gov controller update

I'm pretty happy with mine. It's more accurate than the old system and there's less to it. Smitty

    custom battery tray

A nice, clean looking job on the batteries. What can you tell me about the fuel filter you have on the fire wall? Smitty

Adding An Auxiliary Fuel Tank - M1028

Good info on the brackets. Thanks. Smitty

Adding An Auxiliary Fuel Tank - M1028

I have to admit that riveting that fuel door on to the bed looks a lot better than I thought it would. I'll be watching for helpful tips. Smitty

    86 M1008 No lights...again?

These trucks have a history of the fuse boxes going bad. They get a high resistance connection between the fuse and the holder and result in a melted fuse box. It would be a good thing to check. Smitty

M 1028A2 master cylinder cap stamped dot 3 brake fluid only?

You really need to check to see what type of fluid is in the system prior to adding new fluid. I've been at bases where the CUCVs were changed over to DOT 3, but they were always marked as such. Smitty

M 1031 Farm Contact Service Truck

I plumbed in a tank out of another 1031. I just took the brackets and hardware and mounted it right above the factory tank. It looks like it came that way. Smitty

M 1031 Farm Contact Service Truck

I have the same set up in mine with an older Smith torch. It sure comes in handy! Is that an additional air tank I see in the back? Smitty

    Magnetic PTO Sensor for M1031

The generator is back up and running! It's good to have the truck operational again. Smitty

    Magnetic PTO Sensor for M1031

The part is on the way. $88.49 including shipping. Smitty

    Magnetic PTO Sensor for M1031

I'll give Muncie a call this morning to place the order. Kind of between a rock and a hard place since the system won't work without the part. Smitty

    Magnetic PTO Sensor for M1031

I might not have remembered anything else, but I sure remember the $80 part. The zip tie broke loose and the wires were ripped out of the sender. They sure could have located it in a better location. Smitty

    Magnetic PTO Sensor for M1031

Thanks! It sucks to get old and have others remember what I did better than I can remember it myself... Smitty

    Magnetic PTO Sensor for M1031

Mine (and all that I've seen) has one switch to show PTO engagement and one sensor for speed. The sensor I need has two wires while the switch only has one wire. Smitty

    Magnetic PTO Sensor for M1031

I would, but I'm having a little trouble locating the part number. The bad part is that I ordered one of these a few years ago, but I can't remember the details... Smitty
