Some more progress over the last year or so
Espar coolant heater install works like a champ, heats the back and will keep the engine at 175 when its 5 degrees out!
got some custom switches made and installed a cheap cupholder (one of the most important upgrades)
Lots of soundproofing!

Haven't had to change the flasher yet, but I still have regular bulbs up front and in the dash. I'm sure I will need electronic flasher when I get around to changing the other bulbs.
I think I found my issue, looks like someone slit, bent and half ass rewelded the bracket to fit the smaller frame 22si/24si up top. What you guys think is it shaped slightly different than its supposed to be?
My truck was converted to a single 12v alternator before I bought it using the upper mount. I'm looking to add a 24v to the lower mount to run a big inverter. The upper mount is 7 7/8" spread between holes and the lower is 8 1/2". So I'm guessing the original use 2 different size alts or I'm...
Thanks a lot warthog I had been studying the schematics for awhile and came up with similar theory but that diagram you found answers all my questions! I would have never thought there to be a module inside there.
It would matter in this case because testing amp draw on either of those 2 negative leads is technically testing on a connection between the batteries.
Usually when batteries are in parallel the negatives and positives connect at the batteries to tie them together and then 1 lead from each will...
I agree with warthog I have seen many alternators be the problem. Unless it's only a 1 wire alternator you need to disconnect everything to confirm. Other than that keep unhooking wires until you find it, possibly a small short on the starter solenoid... Just to confirm your not hooking the...
I have a thirst to know how everything works but dont want to take mine apart until I have to. Cant find much info on it in the manuals, I know the top 2 wires are fuel heater. The schematics show a vaccum switch and water in fuel solenoid but doesnt show how it all works together. What makes...
First off let me say I'm jealous of your $500 Duramax purchase! I debated this swap but the cost deterred me so I am doing a 12v Cummins instead. Honestly I see no advantage to using a CUCV I believe the frames are identical to the K30 civilian trucks. Also if your looking to have AC and...
Just an idea you could add a couple generic lights by the low coolant and wait light there should be plenty of room. The c60 series trucks often had lots of lights in that area and used the same gauge cluster.
