Asaf.
thanks for the advice, mate.
for now, i plan to rebuild the one i have, and then it sounds like a good idea to have at least one more ready as spare.
Asaf.
Thanks for the Idea, ST.
I didn't open it yet, but I guess that it is all original, since it used to be a NATO truck, so I assume 1 3/4" fronts and 2" rears. If I'll replace the cylinders I will change to 2" all round, to make things simpler in the future.
Thanks
Asaf.
I'm in the proccess of rebuilding the airpack and the MC in my M813A1.
I can guess that once it will build pressure, the wheel cylinders would leak.
The problem is - i don't have a local source for a rebuild kit, nor complete cylinders. these parts only exists in the army warehouses.

I made some calls, asked some friends. some were not sure, but the others all said that the color was the same as today, but the quality wasn't good so it faded really fast. an interesting point is that on the southern front, sometimes the standard paint was mixed to make it a bit lighter, but...
both looks too light.
look at this one, painted with the actual color used by the IDF since the early 70s:

and bare in mind that the actual colors varies a lot. might be lighter or darker, might be more to the green...
Hi all,
last weekend we took some oldtimers for an offroad trip in the heart of the Negev desert. the Oldest were 3 1942 Jeeps. you can also see a M38A1 and an 1951 AgriJeep. Oldtimers, but surely likes to be outside, in the desert.
I guess you won't understand a thing (and trying Google...
well... that's the "fine line". we never-ever take complete vehicles. our soldiers need targets. we only take parts, small enough to keep the target... well, being a target.
and BTW, it's not a WC51, but an Israeli made M-325, roughly based on the WC.
Asaf.
a quick update...
few weeks ago, we were travelling not far from the west bank in a remote trail, than came across these M-325 and next to it a treasure... an old M54 w/winch. well, now you can change it to w/o winch...
(again, please try to understand, there's nothing wrong with what we're...
as far as I understand the sprag operation, the reason for haveing one for the reverse and one for the front, is because the speed difference (between front and rear t-case output shafts) is in the opposite direction when drivein in opposite directions.
so if everything is welded, (t-case front...
Usually it is the firing zone warning sign, a sign we know very well because most of our off road trips go through these zones (on "dry" days)....
on our website we use the same graphics to warn people not to do the things we do (sort of disclaimer)...
Asaf.
The original Operation Uvda took place on the beginning of march 1949.
Operation Uvda - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It was an epic jurney, as far as the vehicles are concerned, because there were no roads for vehicles in the Negev at the time, and the route was found and marked only days...
I probably need to rebuild my M813's airpack. I got a free access to some M54 series part donors.
Is the braking system similiar? can I use the older part for the newer truck?
Thanks..
Asaf.
running.... but not stopping.
didn't have the time to find what's wrong in the brake system. it's not too complicated, a very simple system, so I just have to spend a day around it and figure out why it doesn't brake.
