Man do I feel silly, wiper arms have a cone shaped splined gromet in them which was corroded in place (looked like one piece). The center of said gromet receives the motor drive shaft and only goes two ways, I thought that was it. Simple tap tap and the gromet pops out and can be positioned...
Thanks, I'll have another look. Wondering, if I switch the air lines will it work backwards and " park " to the right which is out of the way. I'll try it
Anyone else have drivers side wiper always park in the worst place? The drive is not splined so I can't just clock it different. Is their a left and right, maybe I have two rights (passenger sides).
I searched and read but still have some questions. I assume the passenger hub air seal is leaking allowing air into the knuckle inflate the boot and out the top vent. Question is what else should I do when replacing the air seals? I'm thinking inner and outer axle seals and silicone boots...
Indianapolis IN to Swansea MA (just over 1000mi) or Phoenixvill PA to Swansea MA (just over 300mi) Looking for shipping quotes or even a driver quote. I have not bought a truck (one of the two) yet and have not confirmed overall condition though they are both suposed to be good driving trucks...
I took the control box apart to figure out what it actually does. It consists of 2 solenoids and an electromagnetic switch. I noticed that the top solenoid was not always making contact even though it was clicking. I looked at replacing the solenoids but Erics surplus had the whole box for...
Been away for a while but finally had a chance to dig deeper. The alternator is putting out 28v at idle, this is confirmed. Wire 5 is sending 28 v to the controll box from the alt but wire 81 going from the controll box to the starter only has 24.4 v as do the batteries.
I took the controll...
So I charged both batts for an hr at 60 amps then let them finish off on auto at 2 amps. After sitting for 4-5 hrs I tested both with a load test and hydrometer.
The batt I thought was not holding as well dropped to the "replace" range when load tested. 5 cells had a specific gravity of...
This has reminded me about another prblem I have come to ignore. Every time I turn the main power on nothing happens, takes several clicks to make contact (then gauges and buzzer come on). I have had a hunch this has to do with that black controll box on the fire wall which also has the wire...
Thanks for the tips everyone. I did read a lot of posts on this but felt compelled to ask advice on my particular situation. As I understand it our alts should be set to put out 28.5v. Which corresponds to the gauge being to the right of the green (per another informative post). Guess I...
6 month old batteries ( 2 interstate 4D deep cycle) were fine all summer, started noticing slow turning when temps got colder so last time I ran it I Ran the truck all day thinking it would get a good charge, charge gauge was to the right of the green scale where it always is so I shut her down...
Thanks guys, it was a clogged nozzle. I did see that thread but my eyes were burning i had been reading so long, must have passed it over. Thanks again, system works great now. easy pump or two with the glow plug and she starts fine after a 30 deg night. Gauge also returns to 0 now.
