This little bolt is actually a check valve with a hollow center and a ball in it.
I also have, what I believe is, a stock 8.3L 1990 M931A2. I have almost same EGT results. 1200+ easily on a long accel, touch 1300 on a slight grade, all unloaded. I was surprised. I'll be turning up fuel gradually. Interested in how everybody is keeping EGT in check.

Hard to say, I did it over a couple months, a few hours, every few days, as i had time. The straight cut takes 15 min. Grinding out all the welds on back took about 10hrs. It's a pain. There are some welds that are hard to get to, even with it flipped over standing on it. You get creative like...
My ABS light started staying on this Spring. I checked the fuses under dash, fine. When the start swich was flipped I did get the 2 "click-click" system check. I wasn't sure where to go from there. Started crawling around under truck.

Does the OE interface diagnostic cable have both y-connector diagnostic port and comm cable in one? Do you have any pictures of the OE setup?
