    The frames are one of the biggest differences, M38A1 is heavier, due to the re-enforcements.

    The one that you described is for the Civilian model with vacuum wipers, it not waterproof and will leak at high altitudes. Sucks air

    Don't get that Deuce stuck, that 18000Lb winch will work great to get that 92 Ford out but don't stand near the cable went you tried to get the deuce out with that 3/4"cable. The installation look nice.

    When I was in Nam in 74-75 the RVN's ran the stacks to front under the bumpers .

    Roll bar

    If you guys are truly wanting to add a roll over bar to your deuce then look to construction equipment, like a case backhoe, built it on the inside of the cab and over the frame rails. This way it will still look like a deuce from the outside and not the kids sand rail.

    The L-head engine is from the M38, MB. CJ-2A, CJ-3A before the M38A1 or the CJ-3B and CJ-5 or it was use as a stationary engine.

    Also Willys-Jeep embossed Jeep on the sides of cowling, they also came with tail gates with Willys embossed on it.

    I had a 57 CJ-5 in the early 60's and the place where the M38A1 battery box is located is spot welded closed and the glove box was located under it. Also the ford plate was spot welded in place.
