strange, the chrome tail light trim, and chrome vent window trim threw me off. Someone did some work on this thing. How many miles are on this thing? It looks like a good find.

    Converted my gauge cluster

I concur I'd love to see some pics! I've been thinking about this since I got my M1009, I figured it would be a chore, but I'm with you, I'd rather see a gauge then a bulb. You can at least get an idea of what's happening under the hood from behind the wheel.

M1009 Stars, Warms Up, then Stalls!

Thanks guys! I'll be checking that solenoid when its back in my yard on Monday (AAA won't tow off a 'closed lot'). I hope that the trouble, I'm not in deep enough to replace the whole pump yet, I'm still learning my way around this truck. n1bnc - I'm in Plaistow, NH. Just about 12 miles east of...

M1009 Stars, Warms Up, then Stalls!

I can't gifure it out, I start it up with a new fuel filter, fully charged batteries, and a full tank of diesel with diesel kleen, and it starts right up, every time. But when it gets all warmed up, after about 15 minutes, it just stalls out at idle. Same thing when I'm driving it around, I'll...

One Man's Scrap Metal is My Treasure! New CUCV M1009

yeah that junk on the headliner is the wire for the strobe, thats all gone now. And I did grab a windshield with a built in antenna $40 from the junkyard! I think I'm going to go for some Flat Black though, keeping the interior OD. OldChev4X4 - I didn't even notice the shackle, good spot. I'm...

One Man's Scrap Metal is My Treasure! New CUCV M1009

I haven't posted any pic's of my truck yet, but I've been reading these forums for months now. I just got it back to a good mechanical condition so I figured I'd post some picture I took when I got it in May. I'm not photographer, and didn't have the time to learn how to resize the pictures, so...

New Guy - M1009 Fuel Tank Sending Unit Part Number?

Alright Thanks guys. I just found the part number in 289-20P, it does cross over to the napa #, autozone too. Autozone wanted $106 for it, NAPA took $70. And yeah... they ran it on kerosene for a year or two, and then let it sit for another year with 1/2tank of it. It was pretty pale, so I'm...

What do you think? A different idea for a radio install

That's a damn good idea! I've been trying to find an old head unit skinny enough to fit on the ashtray door in my m1009. I figured it would be cool to be able to fold it into the dash. I think I like the 5.56 box better. As for the cooling issue, the computer tower fans I've got are a little...

New Guy - M1009 Fuel Tank Sending Unit Part Number?

I've just bought an 86 M1009, It had trouble idling, you let off the throttle too quick and it will stall, it was probably a filter, or something simple. But I bought after the Portsmouth, NH Highway Dept. got a hold of it, painted it orange, and started running it on kerosene. So I figured I...
