    What Causes Fuel Tank Collapse?

    Could be forklift damage.

    Smoke and Knock

Sounds like a banging injector to me. Try some lucas fuel injector cleaner in it and let it idle for a couple of hours with having it raised in RPM a bit with the hand throttle. It fixed a truck I had that had that same sound. You could change the injector too, but why not try the easy way first.

Interesting Response from Vermont DECLINING my HMMWV Registration

Am General had the Hummer H1 models classes as Class 3 Trucks so they would not have to meet more stringent light truck requirements.

60 Minutes has a story of military vehicle accidents. Tonight NOW west coast.

Thats a video made by those fellas selling some sort of roll over protection. It is staged to look as bad as possible. Notice the soft top windshield without any mounting brackets welded on to properly attach that hard top skin. Not too many four man humvees without a turret, but there were some...

    Oil Pressure "LOW" ? 6.5L non-turbo

IT has not blown up so it is enough oil pressure for your engine to run and live. These gauges are not accurate like those that are calibrated and have paperwork that follow them. They are just a guide of sorts. Even gauges in passenger cars are not exact from car to car. You could get a...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Just in case you are starting with a soft top Humvee. The brackets on both sides of the rear of the windshield are angled back a bit on the Soft Tops as compared to a Humvee that has a Hard Top. The Hard Tops use a flat plate there so the windshield is more vertical. Not much of a difference...

    CTIS DASH PICS

It seems that I have forgotten how to link a photo to this site. I'll figure it out, but it may take a couple of days until I can get back to it. You can search for photos of a Special Forces HMMWV. That might bring up a dash photo. The CTIS is a cool item. The later HMMWV Spindles are CTIS...

HMMVW need help with Injection pump

I was never able to find a socket that fit those special bolts. I have hit the little pin in the center to snap it off and then use a screw driver to unscrew them and also in a desperate time, a nice sharp chisel and hammer to tap the bolts around a bit until I could grab them with a pair of...

Changing injection pump, how to turn crank?

I've always used the starter to rotate the engine to get at the three bolts on the timing gear. The gear is trapped in there and can not jump a tooth just in case you were worried about that.

Any protection if one manages to flip a non-armored humvee?

That video was made by a company that had some sort of roof system to sell. If you look closely it has a hard top, probably from a Hummer Four Man Pick up placed onto an M998. No mounting ears on the windshield for the front of the roof to attach too. Look for other non bolted parts of that...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

If you look at the top front corners of your hard doors, you will notice that they are in contact with the windshield, unless you have replaced the rear soft top style brackets on each rear side of the windshield with the one piece type.

    3 light pod on windshield

The windshield frame is hollow. Houses wiring for wiper motor and wiper rods as well. You can drill and run your wires down inside, but to do it like AMG did on the Hummers, you need to get the wiring down into the A Beam that crosses the vehicle below the windshield frame so if you have a soft...

    AM General parts website

Are these parts being sold as off road use items only? If not, how about asking AMG to issue the bar code stickers for our Humvees like what they put on Hummers. This would allow us to register our Humvees for highway use like Hummers are.

    What's Missing?

It goes down to the nipple on top of the upside down black plastic cup that is just outboard of the frame. This is part of the system that controls how much crankcase pressure is put into the items connected to the vent system. Army Vehicles usually don't have this, unless DWF has been added.
