I know what you mean. I thought about commenting that the calculator is based on a true 49" tire diameter (14.00x20) but that doesn't take into account tire squat. Then I figured I might be splitting hairs.
[EDIT: I could subtract a couple of inches off the numbers to compensate but it's...
Okay, I did NOT account for the transfer case ratios. I assumed it was 1:1 high. I found an old thread by mangus580 where he posts the t-case ratios.

This brings the RPMs down to more believable levels. I was...
Bumping an old thread in case anybody else is curious like me. :)
I found the following ratios. I don't know if these are the actual ratios. ( MT654 vs MT654CR?)

1st - 4.17
2nd - 2.21
3rd - 1.66...
This is likely more effort than you want so this is mainly food for thought. I have a 1974 IH Scout II with a tailgate mounted license plate. The plate flips up on a hinge in case you have to drop the tailgate to carry something in the back.
I don't have a clue how you could mount it but...
My poor neglected truck. It's gonna be a while before I can actually drive it. My work schedule isn't very cooperative. Being on the bottom of the seniority list isn't conducive to getting your chores and projects done.
Can you use some sort of protectant stuff on them to keep them new on the outside? Maybe ArmorAll or the tire wet stuff. Not to make them pretty but to keep the rubber from deteriorating or drying out and weatherchecking.
I think I would be willing to risk a little bearing damage for running duals in front for mud runs. It's only for a day and you are't carrying a load. Turning ability will go down but I can live with that. Drive up there with singles and dual it out before you jump off in it.
Here's my stuck picture. The ground looks deceivingly firm. To complicate matters, it rained a few times after I got it stuck. Of course the axle boot on that side is torn. My seal kit came in last Friday.
This of course is good justification for a winch and bigger tires! But the new seals...
My advice:
Make sure somebody has a winch just in case.
Don't stop unless the mud has a solid bottom.
Don't listen to me because I have an uncanny ability to get anything stuck despite my best efforts.
I sunk my duece to the axle (in front) and it took a lot of work and some fancy...
No, but I got a 1550 psi cheapie from Home Depot for about $100. I bought it mainly to wash my vehicles and push dirt off the driveway. It's capable of removing some of the flaking paint. It's not exactly a powerhouse.
I'm working on making a blasting cabinet. I will attach a shop vac (Rigid brand actually) with a HEPA type filter to the cabinet. I'm not sure if that alone will cut it so I also have a two cartridge mask I'm wearing. I think if I buy more outlet hose, I can pipe it outside and get away with...
Thats good info about the air staying hot. Once I start working the compressor, the entire tank (60 gal) gets pretty warm. I never thought of that being part of the problem. I have plans of running pipe down the middle of the garage with a drop or two. I guess I have to move those plans...
I have 40 pound pressure pot blaster from Harbor Freight. I've just started using it and am having the same problem with it just blowing a fountain of sand. I am still fiddling with the valve at the bottom to control the amount of sand coming out and am getting closer to where I want it. It's...
