Are the plugs for the military plugs still behind the bumper. There should be 2 connectors. They are called weather pack connectors. That is what I make my adapter tie into for the taillight signal.
I wasn't looking to start an argument. I just knew some would more than likely go off about the size of load and they did. I don't know the legal weight. I'm on back roads and taking it slow when I am this heavy. It still has drum brakes in the rear. Like I said I was just trying to point...
The best way to do it is get a shroud and clutch fan. I tried a dual fan setup and it didn't run any cooler. Also I had problems with the relays burning up because of the current load. I switched back to a clutch fan and like it better.
Are u willing to lose your military trailer plug in the rear? I can make one I have done it on all mine. If you want to keep the current plug it is still do able but takes a little more work.
I have never been anything more then helpful here in my posts or just sharing pics. I didn't call anyone specific names. Just that it seems like when people don't go exactly with the flow some of you get up tight. I didn't mean anything personal towards anyone. I guess this is why I don't...
I'm not using a bumper hitch. I used a slide in receiver. I have had zero problems stopping. Like I said i have everything new on this truck and trailer as far as brakes. It's fine if you don't like what I do. Most of the time I am around 16k with everything. Sometimes you have to do with...
Get off your high horse. I'm not saying everyone should do what I do. Just pointing out that it will haul more then most of you think. I'm in rural iowa not in the big city. I am defensive driver. I have done more to and know more them most of you about these trucks. This site has helped...
Once the suburban is done the Blazer won't be towing nearly as much. It will be doing mostly plowing. When I read someone asking about towing with one of these the usual response is 2000 pounds. I just wanted to point out it can and will take more. It must be maintained. I went through the...
I understand the worry about the short wheel base but I have less problems with that using the blazer than I did my 3/4 suburban, but part of that is in the shocks. I put magnum hd shocks on because I knew I was going to use it to haul. I have been pulling this trailer for 8 years thousands of...
4l60e is electronically controlled. The 4l60 is mechanically controlled like a 700r4 but I believe has changes internally. If I was doing a Cummins swap later I would run the 4l80e. They are strong stock and can be beefed up more.

I pulled my trailer and went over the scale at 22500 with my 3/4 suburban. That is a 4000 lbs trailer, 6000 lbs suburban. That's 12500 lbs on the trailer. I know my turbo m1008 will pull more than that. Drive reasonably and have good trailer brakes.
