Made a lot of progress today. I temporally capped the brake booster line, and that did the trick! Turns out, booster had a leak, and that was causing the last 2 cylinders to get leaned out and not run. I completely over looked this a few times... I am having a problem getting the manifold gasket...
The firing order should be correct, I checked it twice. Going to check the vacuum lines, one in particular going to the brake booster that I am starting to suspect (the only obvious thing I have overlooked). The engine is a Hercules JXD. Looking forward to hearing back
I have been asking around about this issue I am having with my scout car, and I am hoping I can find the answer here. My scout starts up and runs smooth, but the 2 most rear cylinders (the 2 closest to the firewall) are dead. I have a good strong blue spark on all new plugs, timed correctly...
The transmission in my WC-54 is pretty worn out. I am not the only one who drives the truck, and some of the family has not fully grasped the art of double clutching... My question is, is it possible to take the transmission out of a Dodge M-37 and use that? I will keep my old transmission and...
Thank you for the response. I did try Hebding and Yamulla. I am not familiar with Biro. I think I have a line on one, that's the good news, Bad news need to have it shipped from Australia.
Thanks again
The water pump case on my scout car cracked today while attempting to pull the impeller off. Does anyone have a line on where I can get another one? I have the earlier style open kind, with the packing nut. Or is there a credible cast iron welder that anyone knows of that would be able to take a...
I know this thread is somewhat dated, however I just recently purchased a Burma Jeep (Bomb Carrier). The vehicle is mostly complete, no seats of tool box. I am hoping I can fabricate what is missing. If anyone has any specs, photos or manuals they are willing to share it would be much...
I'm not sure what happened there, but her goes again. I just bought a Burma jeep and i'm just reaching out to see if anyone would be able to bring it over to me. The Burma is in Post Falls Idaho and i'm looking to get it hauled over to the Saint Paul area in Minnesota. The Burma should weigh...
Just thought I would reach out here first. I bought a Ford GTB (Burma Jeep) in Post Falls, Idaho, and need to get it shipped up to MN. I can specify the location and address to whoever may be interested and or able to haul the truck. Weight is around 7,000 pounds, truck does not run but should...
Anybody have any experience with the following. On my WC-54 I am able to upshift through the gears with no issues. I am unable to downshift, even with double clutching, gears just grind so to avoid any damage I can only down shift, 3 to 2 or 4-3 when I am at rest or moving very slowly. I am a...
Hello all,
I am going through the front axle on my scout car, and I would like to rebuild most of it while I have it apart. My question is, What are the seals for the axle, and where is their location. Before I tore down the front axle, it looked like I had some heavy grease or possible oil...
I am using a mechanical guage. I will recheck oil pressure with another and see where she's at. I agree, a full rebuild would only make sense, if the engine is indeed worn out. As stated, better to have a shop do the work.
I will try another gauge to just be sure. How extensive of a rebuild should I preform. Also, since rebuilding is not a viable option at the moment, could any damage be caused by continuing to run the engine.
I just got my WC-54 put back together, and I have been having a problem with the oil pressure. I did not have the engine rebuilt, as I was informed it checked out OK by the previous owner. The truck burns a little oil, but nothing too bad, so I know the engine has some wear on it. Still has...
