I have to know. Does using the tractor for the short wheelbase, the oversized tires, and five ton chassis make a difference in offroad or on road performance difference? It looks incredible but how does she drive?

Maynard, have a great time with your son at the Challenger Classic. As a kid with cerebral palsy I was involved with a Challenger baseball team here in Ohio and my dad coached and let me tell you, I would not trade those memories for anything in the world! Thanks for giving your time and effort...
I love this site because I learn something every day. I just assumed (and we all know what happens when you assume) that the later models would have lockers in them because that seems like a natural thing for an offroad truck to have. I do have to say though that the military is very...
Yeah the lock out hubs for 5 Ton rockwells are nearly non-existent. There is a rumor that a guy in KY has the tooling to do them but that he charges 2000 dollars apiece. Also I've read where the guy that owns Big Foot may be a source or have a source since apparently some of the early trucks...
Thanks Hammer. Knowing that it actually refers to the transfer case makes all the difference in the world. Makes so much more sense mechanically.

I've looked through other threads but I'm not sure I completely understand the two different types of front ends that come on military trucks. Below I state how I understand each of them, please correct any misunderstandings.
Type one: Sprag operated- automatic engagement based on wheel...
So, I made a quick stop at Marengo today and was very impressed by the many well done jeeps that were there. I just now read the show thread, and I kick myself for not making a fool out of myself and just randomly introducing myself at the Buckeye tent. I really should have just walked up to...
It is great to meet so many other guys who are interested in trucks. I am sure I am going to need some help, and I am always willing to lend a hand if needed (that way I get to play with trucks without having to actually buy one!) Hope to get out to Maringo this weekend. Now if my GPS can just...
wow, you guys are bound and determined to get me into trouble. I love the reliability and performance of the 5.9 in all of it's forms. But..... here is a brief list of the problems I see,
- Getting the truck to my house (can't drive stick)
- Getting the 5.9 and allison to the house (it just...
Gimpyrobb, I live just outside of Mt. Vernon Ohio, one hour east of Columbus, directly on route 62. It is good to know that the bob is fairly easy, I have been reading a lot here for the last two years while trying to save money and while i feel much more comfortable with engines then I do with...
Anyone own a bobbed deuce in Ohio? Any problems with registering it or explaining the work you've had done? Finally, any recommendations on near by people to do the change, it's definitely beyond my skill level.

That is the truck Sangamon! Thanks for keeping us all updated as you care for it. Let us know if you actually take it in the water. I am still betting it sinks like a rock despite what the design says. Something as big and brick like as that truck just shouldnt float!
