When I lived in Minnesota I was getting into renewable energy. I had two wind generators running and a bank of solar panels. All three were hooked up through a charge controller set to 120VDC (light bulbs don't care if the voltage is AC or DC).
So imagine 15 Trojan 8V golf cart batteries all...
The main bulb is a 24V equivalent of an 1157. I think the blackout bulb is the 24V equivalent of a 93. So swapping over to 12V is just a matter of changing the bulb. That's what I did when I refurbished my housings.
Ignore the Harbor Freight POS's. They're long gone. I was only using them...
As emmado22 said, the only way to be 100% sure is to use a test light or meter to verify each pin on the tow vehicle's connector. Then and only then do you wire up the towed vehicle's connector.
I've got a little progress done on mine. I think the last time I posted here I had just brought it home.
Got rid of the eyesore (and VERY heavy) oil tank out of the back. A friend of mine wanted it, so it's all his.
Installed some Harbor Freight lights to make it somewhat legal while in...
I have two original wheels sitting in storage. If you can figure out a way to get them from Orem, UT to you they're yours for the cost of shipping. They still have NDT tires on them, but they're almost as old as me. They're shot. But the wheels are yours if you want them.
PM me for info.
Mine is going to become an expedition trailer (and not a restoration) only because mine has a big hole cut in the back, almost everything has a good dose of rust, and the body has been beat to **** for 40+ years.
If it was in only slightly better condition I'd keep it original.
Plus the fact...
If they are the same as the ones on my M100, I have two originals sitting on a shelf. Light housings, bulbs and pigtail wiring harnesses. PM me for any more info.
Wow, that is sharp!!
I know what I'm going to do with mine now. I was going to go with a custom home made one, but for $100 it isn't worth the trouble for me to screw it up 5 times.
Your list (for me) is only missing a few.
Hawker Hurricane (primarily because I was in 828 Hurricane Sqdn in Canada)
SR-71
Avro Arrow
DeHavilland Mosquito
Other than that, you pretty much named all my favorites. Especially the Catalina and the Warthog.
