The unit does NOT have any “resets”, it currently has 7 hrs and thanks to “klopk” I have finished the MOV mod! It had the fuse mod but no MOV. The unit has been running fine (after a careful and detailed inspection and initial precautionary maintenance) with the peace of mind of having the MOV...

Very good read! Loved the part about "In general, MOV selection for the electrical protection of circuits from power supply transients and spikes is often little more than an educated guess." . I DID learn a lot about MOV's from this! Great help!

I have seen the specs for the ones for sale on Amazon, yet there in lies the confusion, the specs for those are:
Resistor;Model : 14D151K;Max. Allowable Voltage : AC 95V

I'm guessing they decided to make life easier on us with the newer models? There is a pet cock and drain hose plumbed in now! Those without may want to make this mod if doing the work to lower the alternator? It could make life easier down the road!
6 hours on unit. I was mentioning draining it in response to your suggestion of it possibly having a "special oil" in it from preservation? The oil in it is very clean or at least pears to be newly added.
