Drock I agree with you but, you have to keep adding them when you change your fluids. One year latter and I can tell you mine 6.2 has never run better. Take it for what it's worth. I love my CUCV now more then ever. I will keep everybody posted if anything changes.

    Quieter, Better MPG 6.2 Diesel.

german m1008 I may not have the details correct on pricing. Looking at his website again I see he has made changes since I purchased last year. The different bottles have different concentrations of Spherical Nanodiamond lube, hence the different prices. You'll have to check his website and...

    Quieter, Better MPG 6.2 Diesel.

Gripy, It's been a while since I've been on the web site and it looks like he has made some changes. Like I said I treated mine engine last year. The reason for multiple treatments was as follows. Your engine has microscopic galling on metal to metal contact points. (engine wear if you will)...

    Quieter, Better MPG 6.2 Diesel.

It's been a long time but I'm back. Queiter, Better MPG Diesel. I’ve got a M1009 I’ve had for about 6 years now. Ever since I bought it the lifters have made this terrible metallic chatter especially when the motor was cold and even when it was at op temp but, not as bad when warm. Everyone...

Can any of you Guru’s can identify this brake hub?

Thanks HAWKMAN, If you look at the first picture at about the 9:30 position there is what looks like an oval plug but it is made of the same material as the drum. Do you think this is what has to be knocked out? I didn't see anything on the support plate.

Can any of you Guru’s can identify this brake hub?

This is on a 1984 M1009. Are these the stock M1009 brake drums? I can’t find any way to get to the adjuster screw assembly on these drums to back off the brake shoes. There is usually a slot cut into the back support plate or the drum itself for access. These don’t have either. I’ve done...

how hard do you drive it

My M1009 runs pretty loud up to 55 mph. Somewhere between 55 & 60 she smooth's out and hums real nice. That's the sweet spot. Between 60 & 75 it's still a pretty nice ride. I'm only getting 16 mpg city and 18 hwy on stock tires.

    IP pump question

Mine is stock also with stock tires. It only blows black smoke if I stand on the accelerator. Normal driving no smoke. My question still stands...would tuning it down help the MPG's? If it only improves 1 or 2 miles I'll just leave it alone.

    IP pump question

Would turning my pump down improve mileage that much? I have a M1009 no/turbo. Someone told me my pump was turned way up. I'm only getting 16 MPG at best in the summer. I heard other guys say they getting 20-21 MPG. Thoughts anyone?

    Post your cucv pics here

Nothing beats an M1009 in the snow for some fun...unless maybe you have deuce and half.

Skinny; In your 2nd post on this thread you mentioned being in 4LO, hubs unlock for added extra gearing. Can you explain the advantage to this for me?
