M1101/02 trailers: I need to change the wheels and need the exact size

What you have will work, but with my setup, there is no movement. It is solid.

M1101/02 trailers: I need to change the wheels and need the exact size

Here is a picture of my alterations. I welded a 4" box tubing under the existing tongue, then welded another tube under that to level trailer when pulling behind the Jeep or Pickup. The way to do this is to set the trailer level, then measure under the existing tube and measure the ball height...

M1101/02 trailers: I need to change the wheels and need the exact size

I routinely load our trailer to one ton, and have no problems. I would not like to have to make a panic stop at 70 mph without trailer brakes, but it does just fine being pulled by a 2014 Jeep Rubicon. If I pulled it with our F250 psd, I would think it would even be better, because the truck has...

M1101/02 trailers: I need to change the wheels and need the exact size

To bad you are so far away. I have four 37x12.5 humvee tires and wheels, that I pulled off our two M116a3 trailers. No way at my age I could change a flat tire. If one of them fell over, that would be it. They must weigh a hundred pounds. I altered one of the M116a3 trailers to pull behind our Jeep.

    modified trailer

Prices of military trailers are very reasonable. Has anyone purchased two m116a3 trailers and took the axles out to make one two axle trailer?

    modifying a M116a3

Thanks for the responses. I have two m116a3's and one m1101. One of the m116a3's I welded stake pockets on it and built a box four foot by eight foot, and use it for hauling firewood, and it works great. The other one, I modified the bed so that the wheel wells are narrowed and shortened, and...

    modifying a M116a3

Has anyone removed the original bed and replaced it with something like a m1101 bed? Even a pickup bed would be useful on the m116a3 if it would fit.

new to site and new to me m1101 trailer ??'s

Don't know about your side of the world, but here, if you carry a weapon on base and get caught, you go directly to jail. Not worth it, keep your firearms at home when you go on a recovery.

new to site and new to me m1101 trailer ??'s

Everyone has given you good ideas. With ours, we towed at 30psi in both wheels with no problems. I purchased a magnetic tail light set from Harbor freight for $9.99 and took two metal steel plates with one 3/8 hole in each, to mount to the back corners of the trailer. I think the threads are 3/8...

    Looking for a welding trailer

I have three m116a3 trailers. One is stock, one has been altered by lowering the fenders and moving them outward, plus replacing the wheels with shorter tires. stock = 45.5 inches between wheel wells. altered= 64 inches.

    M116A3 ideas and worth

I turned one of our M116a3 trailers into a wood hauling trailer. The other I modified to pull behind our Jeep for carrying water, fuel, supplies, tent, misc. Some use them to haul water barrels. Unless you find someone who has a need, they are difficult to sell.

    m1101 recovery

There are 3/8 threaded holes on the back of the M1101 trailers. I took two 1/4 inch thick by 4x6 inches of plate steel, drilled a 3/8 hole in each, and two 3/8 short bolts and bolted the metal to the trailer. The magnetic tail light worked fine on the mounted steel plates.

M1101/02 trailers: I need to change the wheels and need the exact size

The lug nut spacing is standard Chevy 8 lug. I altered the hitch on our M1101 and kept the stock tires on our trailer. I did purchase chevy wheels for our M116a3 that uses the same stock 37x12.5 tires the M1101 uses.
