    I had the origional D/R 24 votl starter rebuilt. doghead mod on starter relay but the purple with white stripe wire from the ignition is still hot. we can start the blazer by touching the P/W wire to the relay. their has been no other issues other than the starter relay. thanks mud

    M1009 replaced the starter relay, new starter, now the relay is still hot. we pulled the ignition switch off the stering colum and replaced it and still hot. now what? thanks Mud

    rear drive shat forward u-joint question

    Ditto with the clips we had a vibration yesterday and found no retainer clips on the rear u joint causing it to vibrate. install clips and no more vibration

    We have the box of death it's a 2' tall box I built years ago to work on my civvi blazer it's long and not very wide so if you lean in to far it gets wobbly. we have had it for so long now any thoughts of modifying it are out of the question. mud

    Alt on drivers side has lug and wire going to stud on intake, I think this is the isolated ground?? The Pass side does not have this and gen light 2 is on ( very dim ). from reading can I swap these 2 alternators and achieve the needed isolated ground for the 24v system. Thanks Mud

    Battery wiring M1009? blazer

    Thanks for the replies guys. The wiring diagram helped us get the batteries wired right so she fires right up now. Gen #2 light stays on now and #1 comes on then goes off after the motor is idled up ??. I will download the rest of the manuals and read them tonight I think there is more issues...

    My brother just bought a 1986 blazer the batteries are wired positive to positive Neg to neg which is 12V is the isolated ground on one alternator what makes it 24 v? the starter seems to be dragging which makes it hard to start ( motor spins slowly ) or is the starter in need of replacment ...
