I will be replacing both zipper boots and have a couple questions.
1-Is it necessary to safety wire the bolts?
2-What is best to seal both sides of the zipper?
3-Does the tire need to come off? Looks like its doable to me with it on.
As the title said I would like to add grease to the steering knuckles. It is my understanding that there is some way to add grease without pulling the zipper boot open. Truck is out my camp and I would like to add some grease just to be sure. Tearing it apart is not an option at this time. It is...
My M-817 has the dash mounted rifle carrier. What was the issued rifle that this truck would carry? I keep getting asked this question. Also where would one find a non firing rifle to use for show purpose? Thanks....
On the m-817 brakes if you lose air pressure for some reason will you still have brakes? If I understand correctly the air slave is an assist so one has to push the pedal not as hard. I know on vacuum or hydro assist systems you still have brakes just need to push harder. Just had to ask this...
M-817 what wiper blades? The parts book shows 10 inch. I see 12 and 14 being advertised as fitting. I was hoping to buy local once I find the correct size and possible Anco part number. Thanks.

Understood. So if I am correct when the truck builds up air pressure one line should be charged. The other must charge when the brake is applied. I am trying to understand what applies the pressure or determines the pressure when braking? Without a cab control I am trying to figure how this...
Thank you for the information. I have tried to read the manuals and I find them hard to follow. I pretty much understand the trucks air over hydraulic operation. I don't have this home yet so my questions are based on the quick trips to the truck doing basic items to get it home once the snow...
The M-817 I bought has air lines front right and left as well as rear right and left. Can someone help me understand how they are intended to work. I do not have any air controls in the cab. All my other trucks non military had dash valves as well as the column mounted trailer brake control. Not...
