Cold weather issue/glow plug warm up.

Last week I took a 1986 HMMWV for a drive everything ran fine, got a oil change, washed it and no problems. The weather temp dropped to about 11 degrees a few nights ago but its only 30 when I tried to start it. We also got our first snow today. So I go out to try and start it. The wait light...

Help on Engine Electrical Start System

I am clueless on this, but here is goes. I have a 1986 M966 HMMWV. I was told by a military mechanic that the PCB is going out. The wait light blinks and makes a odd humming sound after it starts. The volt meter jumps around but settles after a couple minutes. I obtained a year 2007 made...

    HMMWV questions upgrades

Hello, My department is looking at getting a winch for a M966. Is this possible without a lot of changes to put a military one in? Or are we better off to put a commerical one in? A winch strong enough to handle a vehicle is needed what we are thinking. The next question is can we put one of...

    Police Dept. HMMWV

    More Hmmwv pics

You would be correct. Ours is taking on some work as it needs a new rear CV boot and a new ball joint.

Whew.... trust me I know the feeling. We got approval from the Mayor and a few board members to get ours. The cost has been real low but it will take months at the pace we are going to get it done right. Just got some LED headlights off of E-bay, they came out of my own pocket.

That looks real good. I was thinking of putting LED Military Flood Lamps on the front and rear, plus LED headlights. I was debating about adding a bumper.
