Thanks for the reply Tom! That's what I was thinking: Bed that big would make for a pretty darn useful setup, and I don't think it'd look to bad on there. Lots of times these trucks are chopped and F350 beds are put on them. Messes the proportions all up and the beds just look ugly shape wise...
Howdy folks! Looking at getting an old Ford tilt cab and had the idea of putting a Deuce bed on it. Hoping you knowledgeable folks here could give me some details on how heavy the Deuce bed is, how exactly it mounts to the Deuce frame, and what the external dimensions of the bed are.
Truck is a...
Howdy folks! Looking for transport to get my S280 shelter/dolly combo to a buyer out in NJ. Google Maps is showing 198 miles from pickup point to drop off. Setup will need hauled on a trailer but it does roll. We can't load but have setup positioned so that it can be winched. Buyer has equipment...
Howdy guys! Sorry for the VERY late response, I haven't been getting any sort of notifications for Steel Soldiers, just saw these when I came to post a question about my CUCV!
SCSG-G4: I have it cleared with my PA ATF agents, they actually thought the idea was pretty darn cool. I have taken...
Howdy folks! Got a question regarding engine swapping a CUCV. Truck currently still has the original 6.2L in it.
Now I actually love the little 6.2L. Makes all the power I need and gets decent fuel economy (truck still has the 4.56 rear gears, stock size tires, TH400). I have no intentions on...
Howdy folks! Didn't see another post on this, so I figured I'd write up my own! If you guys know of another, please link it and I'll delete this one!
So I found an S-280 Shelter with the dollies for $500. My question is regarding the dollies: Does anyone know if they need to be titled in PA? A...
She sure is Chris! I've driven her at 55 MPH for 20 minutes four times now so far (my daily work commute twice) and she just runs like a champ! Already experiencing some electrical issues: half-way to work yesterday the gauges all quit! Tach, Speedo and odometer, Voltmeter, both of the Gen...
Thanks guys! cucvruss stopped responding to me there regarding his truck, so I ended up buying an exceptionally clean low mileage M1028 from Mike Morin up in Massachusetts! It arrived here on Saturday, and I'm actually going to take care of the title tomorrow! I'll post some pictures and...
Thanks a lot 4X4! I see in your Signature line that you have an 87 M1008. Do you drive yours often? I'm planning on daily driving mine once I find one, but I'm definitely looking for good information on the best way to do that!
Thanks for the advice Tracer! I'll DEFINITELY be picking up the TMs, thanks for pointing out that you folks have them available! I've heard from tons of people that those TMs could help a monkey take a dumptruck load of parts and turn them into a functional vehicle!
A Gentleman named cucvrus actually just told me he has one, EXACTLY what I was looking for (pretty much stock M1028 with the pickup bed), and he's not all that far away! We'll see how it goes!
