I think that's right, and in my opinion there is also the following to consider: theses vents only work one way (_if_ they work). What happens after the vehicle is parked and things cool down? In the axels and trannies there will be a slight under pressure, which draws air through the axle...

Hmmm, a few months ago I had an idea to build a remote reservoir which could be put under pressure itself (bicycle pump, maybe even tapped air from the deuce airsystem and a low pressure relief valve)....hmmmm....

Make sure to remember that the left and right side nuts / lugs have different orientations, if you have to undo them [thumbzup] ! I once forgot that on a budd inner nut (not so easily notable because you don't see a thread) and almost broke my back on that sucker before I remembered that...
