I went to Washington to look at the truck over the weekend. This truck is an awesome truck. Everything was there, covers, troops seats, tools, etc. It is parade ready. However, I had to turn down the purchase. I am really looking for
a truck that I can use for moving the vehicles and burnt...
I have not pulled the winch yet. She still sits up there. I had to do some travelling and have not been able to get the vehicles off the mountain yet. I will be checking into the winch, on the chance it is salvageable.

Hey all. Its been quite a while since I posted up on SS. Looks like I have found a truck to replace my '52 GMC XM211 that I lost in the High Park Fire last year. Its a 1971 Kaiser M35A2 and comes with an M105A1 trailer. Leaving saturday to pic her up and drive her to CA for a first stop...
Today we had some heavy rains that caused some flooding in the canyon, both Rist Canyon and Poudre Canyon. Pyroclastic soil does a great job of sheeting water off... Hwy 14 and Rist Canyon road were closed for an hour or so, but all is well now.
I will have to get the winch off the truck...
So, I have this 5Ton Garwood winch on the front of my 211. Ya'll have seen
the pictures of the truck... what do you folks think the condition of that winch might be? I am seriously thinking about removing it and selling it. If the pics are not adequate let me know and I'll get some close...
Thanks All. Yes, my wife was able to get all the animals out and the important stuff, pictures, etc... I was on the fireline for the first 2 days trying to protect other structures. This fire will have books written about it. The fire behavior has been impossible to predict. Mother Nature...
Hey All,
Its been a long time since I posted. The High Park Fire broke my heart here in Colorado. Attached are some pics of my XM211 and my M101A1 after the fire roared thru my property on Sunday night, June 10th. Yeah, we lost almost everything, but the house is rebuildable, the stuff is...
Hey Tamangel,
These fire truck pics are killer. I own an ex-fire truck... 1952 GMC XM211 that was a Water Tender for Rist Canyon Volunteer Fire department for approximately 10 years. I bought it in 2005 when we surplused it. Runs fantastic. I took the tank and pump off and am getting ready...
I have no idea if this is part of why all this happened in the first place, AND, unfortunately, I can't go into any great detail, but...
I'm the Asst Fire Chief of our local volunteer fire department. We receive info thru the county here in Colorado that is considered
'unclassified, FOUO'. We...
RE: Re: RE: Colorado Spring MV Get Together
I'd be interested in something here in Colorado. Don't want to take the XM211 too far for its first trip. I'm northwest of Fort Collins.

Started snowing again last night. Still coming down. First dump was 6 inches. Supposed to get another 4 - 8 inches this round. Received 5 - 6 inches so far...

Hi Logan,
I would be interested in that manual myself. I dont have the money to purchase one, but this site will probably have it.

I'll keep my eyes open for one. If I find it I'll get it scanned and posted up for everyone.

State Farm took care of my XM211 for $215 per 6 months. Had to send some pictures since the gal had no idea what I was talking about when I told her what it was.
