Look for a 1 ton GM dually that doesn't have a pickup bed on it. IE... Box truck, maintenance truck ect. Its not the rule, but so far every 14 bolt dually rear end I've found as been a narrow C&C axle and they are everywhere.
The narrow 14 bolt keep the tires within the width of the box. The problem I've run into is the bottom support for the box itself doesn't allow for the inside dual since it was originally a single wheel set up. I'm hesitant to cut on the box since the beam is structural. If anyone has a Dana 70...
Swapped front spindles and axle from the donor truck. The 63" cab and chassis axle kept the tires under the box, but the inboard tire would contact the box floor support. Full span Dana 70 next.
I'm not a electrician so it could be completely wrong, but it blows hot and cold when asked, so I just go with it. :grd:
Additional info for anyone wanting one of these: My 5K will push the three ton unit, but it kicks up to 110% load on heat.
My 10k will push a five ton unit and 98% load on...

Not sure why I'm just now seeing this thread, but I love it. After seeing the box gutted I think the vertical supports should be strong enough to support a cabover bed if I run the top beam the length of the entire box. Any input is welcome.
Thank you for the offer. There has to be a digital copy somewhere with a parts manual. I'm planning on converting mine over to R-407C since its the closest match to R22 and its available. I found a study the Marine Corps did on the relation between gen sets and ECUs. Lots of fluff, but also good...
